REAPER 5.51 is out. ( BTW - Get used to REAPER updates. They happen all the time. Constantly adding features, improving features and fixing obscure bugs. Just download & install latest - don't worry; you won't lose anything you've already got going in REAPER - it'll just update it). Here's a list of new features & fixes: 5.51For all you MIDI-Clickers out there: 15th item down references a particular item that sounds like it may be of interest - "MIDI editor: preview note in key on first mouse down when key snap enabled [t=113708]" I didn't even know that you could lock editor to a particular scale . Sounds handy.

This is what I have in my VST, no Piano yet it says I have put it there. Aaaaaaa-HA! THAT's the problem. There are "VST's" and there are "VSTi's". VST's are audio effects (FX) and / or signal processing plug-ins. VSTi's are VST's that are Instruments, which is what we're looking for. So if you've put things in the correct location and provided REAPER w/ the correct path to your VST/VSTi folder, you just need to: Select either "All Plugins" or "VSTi".
Boot,
I get the feeling that I am not providing Reaper with the correct path, can you help with that?

Sure. Let's start with you telling me what VSTi you've downloaded.

And when you unzip it what do you have? Or... wait a minute. Why don't you just tell me, step by step, what you did after downloading this VSTi.

I've got a 'travel day' tomorrow - 'won't be available 'til around 4pm ET. So maybe try and see if you can figure it out on your own (it may sink-in better that way, anyway) by reviewing posts #3 - #7 regarding VST/i installation.

I looked again at the pic you posted. I see Vienna Ensemble Pro there. Would you have any idea how that got there? So what's going on here? You never mentioned that you had already successfully installed a VST . Just do the same thing with your piano VSTi and hit "All plugins" instead of "VST".

I didn't see any VSTi's... just a list of VST's. The Vienna' thing didn't come w/ REAPER, all the rest did. And if REAPER is seeing Vienna Ensemble Pro, some how it got pointed toward it. Have you even tried just clicking "All Plugins" to see if your piano VSTi shows up? You're not giving me much to work with, here.
