Hey Guys. Always loved the 'sarabande' framing. Here, it is mostly referencing the Baroque - with some other colors along the way. Getting close to finishing this piano book - one more piece to write. soundcloud.com/progstudiespiano/sarabande-f4

Thanks, John. It was interesting to look at Corea's forward to the book. (couldn't access though even one page of a piece, which I would have found curious to see). He wrote it in 1980, so that is also curious - coming in on your feed. Evidently, he has used the basic structure of these children's pieces as templates - for performance. You know, this Sarabande, I had/have a suspicion that the 1st couple of bars of the theme may be too close to something written by Bach, but I didn't search it out. I was kind of counting on you to catch me, if I did. (Though, I must admit, if true, I won't now go in and alter it - )

It did seem very Bachian, but I'm probably not familiar enough with all of Bach's keyboard works to pinpoint specific similarities... The Corea was just recently published which is why he's being promoted? Maybe looking to improve his cash flow? I also randomly came across this set through another FB group that I thought you'd find interesting... An 18th century progressive piano book (maybe you know it already?). Apparently in some of them he writes in fun encouragement for the pianist... imslp.org/wiki/120_Handstücke_für_angehende_Klavierspieler_(Türk%2C_Daniel_Gottlob)
