Hi Kevin,
Happy new year to you.
I intend to finish my 2nd symphony (10 mins done so far) and another 4 preludes and fugues for piano at the very least this year. How about you?

Is your 1st symphony available? I do whatever comes along!

Well...it is about 47 mins long and although I have an old DAW rendition of it, the score is still on manuscript only. That is perhaps another goal this year, to input the dots into Sibelius. I may post some of it one day, especially if I get time to re-program with better sounds. Will you be getting any more commissions from the amateur orchestra you know?...oh and it'd be great to hear any performances you may have had recorded of the stuff you've posted!

If you are looking for someone to do the job Mike that could go on my list for this year!
I will let you know about performances. Pop over to my forum for a date. I am hoping for a second performance later in the year in Hastings.

Let me know if you do get a performance as I might be able to come along. How much would you charge to do 47mins of Sibelius input from MS, full orchestral?

Never been asked!
You probably know the going rate anyway! And I would not ask anything like that anyway.

Hi Kev, No I actually don't know the going rate as I never really used such a service - I was just curious. I realise now that without you seeing the score, you wouldn't be able to say anyway! Still its' a kind offer, but I would have serious reservations about letting the MS out of my sight because the MS itself is custom printed and large (60cmX42cm) with 38 staves and so digital scans of the score are impractical (not to mention having to decipher my scrawl).
Are you living in the South East then?

I would not want the original Mike. A scanned pdf would be great. Any scrawls can be dealt with as and when. Please feel free to send if you wish.
I live in Hampshire.

Like I said Kev, scanning such a large MS is not possible, is it? If there is a way, then we might talk fees as it has been hanging over me to get on with it. There is also a cello concerto to do!

If you have a printer/ scanner then you can do sections

If push comes to shove you can always take photographs.

Just been layering a4 sheets over the ms. It'd take 4 portrait pages per page of score. It might be do-able from a pdf point of view if as you say, we do sections at a time. For example, I noticed that wind and brass are covered in 2 a4 scans for each score page. If I asked you to do a 35min work for cello solo and full orchestra (double wind) could you give me a rough idea of cost?
Sorry, Kev, we've derailed this thread a bit haven't we..
