With each division, they grow a little shorter, Until they can no longer guarantee Our survival. [YURI: Are we talking of death?] Yes, unfortunately, my friend. -- Until we learn how to alter this process, We march toward error and, Eventually, death itself. [YURI: I don't know how I?] -- We have made progress, Understanding what’s involved, But we need more information, We need more code, We need more donors, We need more computation, Can't you see? -- Your programmers could help. Really beautiful, John. I love your harmonic sense, with little and big surprises, though all organically connected - with a determined inevitability as well! I enjoyed your counterpoint, and the wonderful, what I would call the B section - with the foreshortening rhythms.. which is not very long, but recurs as a contrast to the more flowing sections. I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for posting the libretto as well.

Your singer, Jonathan, has a beautiful voice! And the performance is excellent. My only quibble is that when Yuri's part first comes in, it sounded a little confusing to me - coming from the bass register - (and musically it is obvious that it is another character's part) and entering very close, rhythmically, from the previous phrase. It did sound like Jonathan sings that part there as well. Is this a place holder for another singer's part that will be put in later?
It must be very exciting to see it coming together.
Great sound/mix.

Great sound/mix. Thanks, G. Yes, in the opera, he's basically telling this to another character onstage... What do you mean by confusing--just like, what is going on? Here's the other tenor I got to record it: soundcloud.com/driscollmusick/aria

Wow! This really sounds fantastic - and beautiful! (This second link - I didn't have that confusion I mentioned re the first link. Not sure if there is a particular reason why - other than just listening again.) Can't say enough about its emotive power. Over the moon, here.
