What a little gem John. I wish I could get into Maxwell D, it's not for the lack of trying as I have scores for some symphonies and Strathclyde concertos, but for some reason, I don't get on with his musical syntax. I didn't know he was a good pianist though, I wonder what those kids really thought about Messiaen's 'Noel'. Moore of course was great, but not as a composer imv. Both where immensely successful though and you can't say much against them really, they where very gifted.
