Ah. Looking right at it. Thanks. The biggest changes in layout you've done are the changes in percussion staves to single lines and the breaking up of barlines/additions of brackets between instrument families. How do you select an entire stave and change it? How . . . ugh. I try to find as much as I can online but I'm going to be asking quite a few questions. At any point feel free to stop To highlight a full stave from beginning to end go to the start and triple click the stave you want, that highlights all of it.

Dave did you give up on the music xml? Not exactly but I tried it a few times and it stuck at a 5/6kb file that crashed Sib on opening. Been away since yesterday so can do no more right now! Midi works ok once anticipating the foibles though.

Too bad. I opened the midi in Sibelius, made some clef and other changes, then saved as a music xml. I opened that in Musescore just to see what would happen. All my changes were retained. It was also a 2.2 mb file. I feel that if you could get music xml to work, it might go easier for you as I think it retains more information. Measure 9, 3/4 instead of 6/8? Might just be me, but as a director, I'm not wild about condensed scores. You don't need to worry about all the midi info that shows up. It's grayed out and won't show in printouts.

I did have an xml file work but it wasn't much better (worse in fact). Strictly, Logic 9 doesn't export music xml, just xml, far as I'm aware. If I use logic to make a score containing nothing but music, I lose no information by moving to Sib for notation. It's only in this case with a near-finished score that I'm moving backwards a bit. Condensed scores are fairly standard for sessions. Some use the full scores, which would be easier for me, so I might check well in advance. The midi info is still a horrible distraction and seems to slow Sib down! So off it goes. 6/8 delineates the phrasing more naturally for me.

True, you don't need the midi info, but I'm surprised it slows down your system. If you start with a full score, you can make a condensed score by hiding empty staves. You can do it the other way around, but takes more steps. Those 6/8 measures just seem awkward and forced to me. Like there's a half beat or so missing. I felt that before I saw the score. On the other hand, I realize it's a transition, and that "uneasy" is what you are after.
Don't forget there is a manual included that breaks down each part of the ribbon. The bad part is that you have to know what you are looking for. Ask away.
