As far as that 2nd pic you posted - "Send all live output to disc" as a WAV file. Looks like a good way to fill a machine w/ huge files, once you hit "Start". Might want to re-think that.
Why are you in that menu?

OK. First off, let's confirm exactly where we're at, here.
You've got a VST on the track. Yes?
You've recorded it using a midi keyboard. Yes? If not, why don't you go ahead and hit "Record", play something on your midi keyboard for 10 sec. or so. Hit "Stop". Now hit "Play".
When you play back your recorded track, the meters move but there is no sound from your headphones/speakers. Yes?
If 'yes' to all the above, try the following.
Sometimes another program can 'steal' the audio from REAPER - especially something like your web browser. So shut that down, as well as anything else that plays thru your speakers. Then you may need to close-out & restart REAPER - Just to kind of 'freshen' things up a bit. Now play back your track. Anything?
If this alone hasn't fixed things, do me a favor. Go to the very upper right-hand corner of the REAPER window and click the little numbers there. This will open your midi & audio ins & outs selections. Here's the favor: Take a screen shot of that and post it here.

BTW - I don't recall ever discussing with you the following.
Are you using any type of audio interface, or is playback directly thru your computer's sound card & speakers?

First off - at the upper right of the REAPER window, you don't have something right in the margin - the same border that has "File, Edit, View", etc at the upper left? I'm pretty sure you do. When you find it, click on it. Here's mine. Click anywhere between "44.1kHz" & "ASIO".

And you do NOT need an interface to do what you want to do. I'm at our summer place right now (going thru "closing-up hell") and all I have w/ me is an older laptop and a little Samson Graphite midi keyboard plugged in via USB - works fine. I was just curious what your particular setup was so I can assess the 'no sound' issue accurately.
So, come on. Did you find that area to the upper right and click on it? Let me know, because if that's not working for you, there's another way.

Is the volume up on your computer?
I'm still not clear if you've successfully recorded midi or not. So do this. With REAPER open, drag a WAV file onto a track. You should be able to playback that audio. What does that do for you? Meters moving but no sound?
