"Before that, I need your input. Having the criteria set by you defeats the point of setting a particular theme or restriction, but you can choose between two options" "Place your votes beneath" You vote for one contest out of two. The winning contest is the one that happens, if there's interest. Then why are you calling it a "contest" (singular)? Sorry, Dave, clearly I misread the initial post! Strong vote for #1 over #2

I vote for 1. i think that the chords do offer a lot of possibilities. (even if we can't impose one chord onto the other

Thanks guys, do you mind using the poll I added at the top? Seems like 1) will win resoundingly but may as well do it right.

Can wee reorder the progression or will it have to be B F C# G#?

You can. Any order, major or minor or both (so you don't have to stick to a maj B the whole piece or whatever), each must be used at least twice. Can wee reorder the progression or will it have to be B F C# G#?

Just a heads up. I took two minutes of one of my orchestra pieces and compressed it to 128kbps mp3. Still 2.1 MB. I'll try a few other things.

Yes, 1 minute @128 is about 1mb (which was the point, to restrict duration - I should just have said "write a piece under 1 minute") It seems likely we'll be doing the other contest anyway. Just a heads up. I took two minutes of one of my orchestra pieces and compressed it to 128kbps mp3. Still 2.1 MB. I'll try a few other things.

You have to assume some competency on my part! From the post: "Place your votes in the poll, post any queries and I'll review the results in a week's time - October 1st." Looks like we'll be lighting Ray's fire with an assortment of four chord roots, but you never know. So, is this contest happening or what?

Haha, alright, alright, I forgot you wrote Oct 1. You don't have to get all worked up. In any case, it looks like we're going ahead with the C#7 contest, unless we miraculously get >10 new members sign up and vote for the other alternative within the next few days.

Well you don't have to yell about it. Are you feeling better now, Poopsie? Hope so.
